The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will begin the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - PG (NEET PG 2025) counselling round 2 registration from December 5 onwards. MCC has also revised the NEET PG counselling 2025 round-wise admission schedule. According to the new schedule, the institutions will verify the data of candidates who have been allotted seats in round 1 from December 2 to 3.
Candidates can register for MCC NEET PG counselling 2025 round 1 on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
This year, over 2 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET PG 2025, of which 1,28,116 qualified. The MCC conducts NEET PG counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) postgraduate medical and dental seats in government, deemed, and private medical colleges.
After a prolonged delay caused due to legal scrutiny and pending seat approvals by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the MCC began the registrations for the NEET PG round 1 counselling on October 17 but did not issue the complete schedule.
Uncertainty grew further, when the NEET PG counselling dates were extended multiple times again as the seat matrix was not finalised yet. This also impacted the state counselling process, which, as per rule, is conducted subsequently after the MCC round to prevent seat blocking.
The college and course-wise final deemed and DNB PG seat matrix were uploaded on MCC portal on November 19, over a month after registration began. .

These seats have been added in the final seat matrix after withdrawing 235 PG DNB – 186 government DNB and 49 private DNB seats – due to which the roster has been recast for government institutes offering DNB courses.
