MCC NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule out for MBBS, BDS admissions; registration from August 5

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 counselling schedule for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other medicine programmes. Candidates can register for the NEET UG counselling through the official website at mcc.nic.in.

Only NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates are eligible to register for the MCC counselling for admission to medicine courses.

The MCC has also introduced several reforms in the NEET UG counselling to make the admission process more transparent and efficient for candidates.

According to the new MCC guidelines, candidates who will be allotted medical colleges and opted for seat upgradation in subsequent rounds will no longer have to physically report to their allotted institutes.

Instead, the upgrade process in MBBS counselling will be held online and candidates will only be need to report physically to their allotted colleges after accepting their final allotted seat.

As per the MCC NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule , the admission process will be held across several rounds, beginning from round 1 registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment processing, result declaration, and reporting at allotted medical colleges.

Those who will not be allotted MBBS colleges in round 1 of the NEET UG 2026 counselling could participate in the subsequent rounds.

The admission to MBBS and other UG medical courses will be conducted under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) MBBS, BDS seats, 100% seats in deemed universities, central universities such as AMU, BHU, and the University of Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia’s Faculty of Dentistry, ESIC Institutes, and AFMC, Pune.

While, the remaining 85% state quota seats will be filled by the respective state counselling authorities.

Nearly 19.01 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET UG 2026 examination, held on June 21 for admission to MBBS, BDS and allied courses at private, government and deemed medical colleges across the country.

Of the total appeared, only 11.21 lakh candidates qualified for the MCC NEET UG counselling 2026. The committee will fill a total of 1.23 lakh MBBS seats through the counselling process.
