MCC updates NEET PG 2025 seat matrix; 28,663 seats after revision ahead of round 1 counselling

As per the revised data, 49 Doctor of Medicine (MD) / Master of Surgery (MS) seats and 54 Diplomate of National Board (DNB) seats have been withdrawn, while 6 new seats from private hospitals have been added to the Round 1 matrix. The updated details have been incorporated into the NEET PG 2025 final seat matrix and will take effect before the seat allotment process begins.
Following this revision, the total number of seats available for NEET PG 2025 counselling now stands at 28,663, covering MD, MS, Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma), and DNB programmes under different quotas.
Earlier, the MCC had notified 28,760 seats, carrying 12,678 seats under the All India Quota (AIQ), 804 seats under the Central Internal Quota, 6,156 seats under Deemed Universities, and 9,122 seats under the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) category.
The MCC has confirmed that the round 1 registration and choice filling process for NEET PG 2025 counselling is currently underway and will close on November 5, 2025. The seat allotment process will take place from November 6 to November 7, and the round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on November 8, 2025.
The NEET PG counselling is being conducted for 50 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 100 per cent seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, and Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) institutions for the academic year 2025.
NEET PG Counselling 2025: All India quota seat matrix
Under the All India Quota (AIQ), candidates can check and exercise their choices for postgraduate medical seats through the official counselling portal at mcc.nic.in. The AIQ seat matrix includes MD, MS, and PG Diploma programmes offered across government medical colleges in different states and union territories.
Candidates can check the NEET PG 2025 seat matrix for some central universities along with their institute name, programme name, and total seats from the table below.
