MHT CET 2026 round 2 seat matrix out; choice filling begins today for 54,700 vacant seats

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has published the provisional vacancy seat matrix for MHT CET 2026 Centralised Admission Process (CAP) round 2 for admission to first-year Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes. A total of 54,700 vacant seats are available across participating engineering institutes. Eligible candidates can check the institute-wise and category-wise vacant seats on the official counselling portal and submit their option forms from August 7 to August 9.

According to the CET Cell, candidates can fill and confirm their choices for CAP round 2 through their login on the official website. The provisional MHT CET seat matrix 2026 includes the seats available across government, government-aided, autonomous and private engineering institutes after completion of the round 1 admission process.

The MHT CET CAP seat matrix 2026 provides college-wise, branch-wise and category-wise vacancy details, enabling candidates to make informed choices before locking their preferences for the second round of counselling.

• Release of provisional vacancy seat matrix: August 6, 2026
• Online submission and confirmation of option form: August 7 to August 9, 2026
• CAP Round 2 seat allotment result: August 12, 2026

MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 2 Choice Filling: Steps

The below-mentioned steps will help candidates to complete the choice filling process

• Visit the official MHT CET counselling portal.
• Log in using your application ID and password.
• Click on the "CAP Round 2 Option Form" link.
• View the Round 2 provisional vacancy seat matrix and check the available colleges and branches.
• Search and select your preferred colleges and courses using the choice code.
• Add as many eligible choices as possible and arrange them in order of preference, with the most preferred option at the top.
• Review the list of selected choices carefully.
• Click on Confirm/Lock Option Form to submit your preferences before the deadline.
• Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates who wish to participate in CAP round 2 should carefully review the available vacancies and arrange their preferences accordingly before the option-filling window closes on August 9. The CET Cell has advised candidates to confirm their option forms within the prescribed deadline, as unconfirmed choices will not be considered for seat allotment.
