MICA Ahmedabad appoints Githa Heggde as its new dean

Gita Heggde's appointment at MICA comes in the wake of Preeti Shroff's resignation from the post. She will assume her position as the Dean on October 17.
AHMEDABAD: MICA formerly Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad has appointed Githa Heggde as its new Dean. She will assume her position as the Dean on October 17, 2022.
Githa Heggde who has more than 30 years of academic, consulting and industry experience was selected for the dean’s position by a Search cum Selection Committee constituted by the Governing Council (GC) of MICA.
The selection committee comprised GC members Professor Anantha Babbili, Aparna Mahesh and Shailendra Raj Mehta. The board accepted their unanimous recommendation of Githa Heggde as the next Dean of MICA.
Shailendra Raj Mehta, President and Director of MICA, said, “I am delighted that a person of Heggde’s eminence is joining MICA as Dean. With her strong administrative and academic background, and stellar experience working with regulators globally, she will take MICA’s academic priorities to a higher level.”

Commenting on her appointment, Githa Heggde said, “I am very excited to be joining the MICA team. I am honored to be appointed as Dean of a prestigious and premier business school that develops empathetic leaders in a digitally enabled world.”
In her last assignment as Dean, School of Business at UPES, she contributed to its rapid growth as a member of the Board of Management and Academic Council of UPES University. She held additional interim charges as Dean, School of Modern Media and School of Law, Head of the Innovation Centre and its MDP initiatives. She was also part of the task force of start-up initiatives of the Government of Uttarakhand.
The appointment of Heggde comes in the wake of Preeti Shroff's resignation from the Deans post at MICA. Shroff continues to serve MICA as the senior advisor to the president and the director of MICA.
