NEW DELHI: Mudra Institute of Communications (MICA) Ahmedabad has launched its two-week orientation programme, extending a warm welcome to 235 students across three different programmes: postgraduate diploma in mass communication and postgraduate diploma in management (PGDMC and PGDM), crafting creative communications (CCC), and fellow programme in management (FPM).
The orientation programme, spanning two weeks, promises an engaging mix of activities including yoga, mindfulness, expressive storytelling, and design thinking. During the programme, panel discussions on ‘India rising: opportunities and challenges’ and ‘New trends and career opportunities in digital and analytics’ will offer insights, followed by an expert talk on ‘Marketing in the Tech-enabled world: AI and beyond’ by Anand Chakravarthy, chief growth officer of Omnicom media group, India.
The event will conclude with an evening of cultural engagement, fostering connections within the MICA community. This immersive programme aims to equip students with the skills and mindset needed to navigate a rapidly evolving professional landscape.
Jaya Deshmukh, director designate of MICA, discussed the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI), synthetic biology, quantum computing, and robotics at the launch event. She highlighted the importance of storytelling in understanding these advancements, highlighting MICA’s role in fostering fearlessness, learning, and creativity among students.
Mini Mathur and Saurabh Pandya, co-chairmen of the orientation committee at MICA, elaborated on the programme's focus on discovery, equity, diversity, and inclusivity. They highlighted the introduction of sessions on expressive storytelling, creative movement, mindfulness, and yoga, reflecting MICA's commitment to holistic education.
Addressing the attendees, Ramesh Ramadurai, managing director of the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) India company, discussed AI's potential to enhance productivity and creativity, urging students to prepare for upcoming changes by building mental agility.
