NEW DELHI: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce has launched an internship scheme for undergraduate, postgraduate and research students.

The internship will remain open throughout the year and applicants can choose a period of their choice - one month, two month, or three months internship.

The objective of the internship is to give exposure to students to understand the working culture of the government of India and to understand the schemes run by the department.

The eligibility criteria of the internship is applicants pursuing graduation, post graduation, or research in engineering, management, law, economics, finance, computers, and library management can apply.

Other candidates can also apply depending on case to case.

The period of internship should be atleast one month and utmost three months. On completion of the internship, students will be given an experience certificate.

Only 20 interns would be selected at a time and they will be paid a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month.

How to apply

  • Interested applicants can apply online through the link given on the official website.
  • Applicants must indicate the areas of interest and the period of internship.
  • A candidate can apply for an internship only once during a financial year. The application will be valid for consideration for the entirety of the financial year in which the application is made.

Selection Process

The online applications received via online mode will be sent to the concerned division and interns will be selected on the basis of requirements.

The interns will have to submit a report about their learning experience at the end of their internship.
