‘Missile Woman of India’ Tessy Thomas appointed NICHE University vice-chancellor

NEW DELHI: NICHE University, Kanyakumari has appointed Tessy Thomas, known as the "Missile Woman of India", as its new vice-chancellor. Tessy Thomas, renowned for her contributions to defence research and technology, brings her extensive experience and leadership to guide NICHE Kanyakumari toward unparalleled academic excellence, the university said.

As per the official press release, “Tessy Thomas had a distinguished career spanning decades within India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Her leadership and contributions have been instrumental in shaping the nation's missile programme, particularly the successful Agni-4 and Agni-5 projects. Her commitment and accomplishments have led to widespread recognition and numerous accolades.”

Tessy Thomas's appointment as vice chancellor signifies a pivotal moment in NICHE's pursuit of academic excellence.
