NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET-UG 2021, will be conducted on August 1. Aspirants who are willing to appear for NEET 2021 now have almost four months for preparation. Seeing the level of competition to grab a medical seat for admission, it is known to all that preparing for India's single largest medical undergraduate entrance exam is very tough.

Students who prepare for NEET 2021 with the right strategies will only be able to crack the exam with a better result. NEET aspirants can go through a four-month study road map shared by Shailendra Maheshwari - Academic Director, Career Point, to boost the level of preparation.

“For now students must focus on the quick revision and develop speed and accuracy because NEET exam is not very much difficult but the exposure of all subjects included in NEET syllabus is necessary,” said Shailendra Maheshwari.

He further said, “Students are supposed to attempt 180 NEET questions in 180 minutes. So, their reading skills must be very high and there should not be any chance of mistakes. So the speed and accuracy should be in synchronize form to get a better result.”

Focus on test-taking skills and revision

In NEET, one mark can shuffle hundreds of ranks said the expert and advised students to avoid any kind of mistakes. He further advised focusing more on test-taking skills during this period and revision.

NEET 2021 revision should be done in a very concise manner by observing the most appropriate examples and questions. On the basis of this, the whole NEET chapter can be revised.

Have a balance between accuracy and time management

Students should focus more on NEET 2021 mock test to find their weak areas. After attempting the mock test during the NEET preparation 2021, aspirants have to analyze their preparation and try to work on improving these weak areas.

Many aspirants are having difficulty managing the time while attempting the NEET 2021 paper. For them, Maheshwari has suggested dividing the three-hour exam duration into four slots. In the first three slots of exam duration, students can attempt the paper on the basis of questions that are known to them. In the last 45 minutes of the paper, students can attempt the remaining questions.

When asked about the number of mock tests students should attempt in a week, Maheshwari said attempting three to four mock tests in a week during the NEET preparation should serve the purpose. “Attempting more mock tests will create unnecessary stress,” said the expert.
