NEW DELHI: Putting rumours of postponement of NEET PG examination to rest, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has issued a notice at natboard.edu.in saying that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to postgraduate courses in medicine, NEET PG exam, will be conducted as per schedule, on April 18, 2021. “Considering the importance of the examination in admitting post-graduates in their respective subjects for further training, it is in the best interest of candidates to continue to hold this examination on the announced date,” says the notice by NBE on NEET PG 2021. In the notice, NBE has also issued a COVID advisory to be followed at the NEET PG exam centres.

The NEET PG exam will be conducted in computer-based mode at 255 test cities across the country. NBE has increased the number of NEET PG exam centres in the states. Further, to facilitate students' movement at a time when many states have reintroduced travel restrictions, the authorities will issue a COVID e-pass to each candidate. The e-pass will be released along with the NEET PG admit card on April 12, 2021.
The notice issued at natboard.edu.in, titled “Conduct of NEET-PG 2021 with COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour” details the protective measures taken by NBE for safe conduct of the exam. Students are advised to follow the guidelines issued by NBE for NEET PG 2021.
Increase in NEET PG 2021 exam centres: For the convenience of candidates, NBE has increased the number of NEET PG test centres and seats. Candidates who opted for “other” while choosing the NEET PG exam centre in the application form will be allotted the test centre in their present state of residence.
COVID e-pass: NBE will issue a COVID e-pass along with the NEET PG admit card on April 12, 2021. The COVID e-pass will help candidates reach the NEET PG 2021 exam centre in case of travel restrictions.
NEET PG exam centre reporting time: Students have to report to the designated NEET PG exam centre 2021 as per the time slot allotted to them. Authorities will inform students about the time slot via email and SMS.
Temperature check at NEET PG 2021 exam centre: Upon reaching the NEET PG exam centre, candidates will have to undergo temperature check using thermo guns. Students with higher than normal temperature or showing any symptoms of COVID will have to appear for NEET PG exam 2021 in an isolation lab.
COVID safety kit: Each candidate will be given a COVID-19 protective gear safety kit upon entry to the NEET PG exam centre. The safety kit will contain a face mask, a face shield, and five sanitiser sachets. Students must wear the face mask and face shield at the NEET PG 2021 exam centre.
Items not allowed: Students are not allowed to carry any electronic devices, stationery, eatables, bags, jewellery, accessories, water bottles, and gloves inside the NEET PG exam centre. Bottled drinking water will be provided to test takers at the NEET PG exam centre 2021.
Documents to carry: Students are only allowed to carry their NEET PG 2021 admit card, valid id proof, photocopy of provisional or permanent registration certificate, FMGE pass certificate, and passport registration certificate (only for foreign graduates).
Exit from the NEET PG exam centre: Candidates will be allowed to leave the NEET PG 2021 exam centre in a staggered manner after the completion of the test. Students should follow the directions given by the centre in-charges to avoid crowding.
