However, the NEET PG 2022 Counselling postponement drew criticism from resident doctors associations and students. The decision to reschedule NEET PG counselling was taken by the MCC officials as the National Medical Commission (NMC) is still in the process of issuing New LoPs for the current academic year and the process will conclude on September 15.
Former president of Indian Medical Association (IMA) JA Jayalal said, “What an insensitive and ineffective NMC. After 4 months of NEET results, further postponement is asked for failure to do mandatory assessment. Total hypo crazy and demoralising the aspirants and Medical Educators. Total change of NMC as a democratic body is the need of the hour.”
Expressing disappointment, the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) tweeted, “Why Such procedural delays?? FORDA along with all PG aspirants stand utterly disappointed with this kind of unceremonious attitude from NMC leading to distress among students. Unfortunately, there stands no fair authority who can even question.”

Stating that it is going to be ‘stressful year again’, the All India Students Dental Association (AISDA) asked, “If you (MCC) wanna delay like this then why a postponement (of NEET PG 2022 exam) was not considered?”
In May, several medical aspirants had written to former President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya requesting to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam stating how 5,000 intern doctors will be ineligible to appear in the NEET PG 2022.
Many others urged for the postponement of the exam due to less gap between entrance exams and counselling dates. However, the ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) had informed that the exam will not be postponed and later conducted on the scheduled exam date, May 21, 2022.
Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release NEET answer key 2022, OMR sheets with recorded responses today on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The NEET UG 2022 result will be declared by September 7 for over 16 lakh students, as per the latest update.
