In an exclusive interview with Careers360, Dr Batra, who completed her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, shared some unique tips that helped her top the NEET PG 2022 exam, beating all odds.

In conversation with Careers360, Dr Batra said, “I come from a non-doctor family and being the first ever doctor, I feel remarkable. I had no plans to proceed in the medical field and it was a last moment decision.”

She added that she feels great about how she has the capability to make a difference in someone’s life now.

She expressed her gratitude to her parents and said although she lost her brother three years back, he is still her guiding light.

NEET 2022 Topper: How Dr Shagun prepared for the exam

Dr Batra said, “I started preparing for NEET PG 2022 exam in the third year of MBBS. I used to practice MCQs for pre final and final year subjects. Before the commencement of internship I had notes of all 19 subjects ready to revise."

"I focussed on self study. With proper planning and strategy, I was able to manage coaching, self study and my college. Marrow GTs and National mocks helped me to prepare well for the NEET PG 2022. Also, good exam practices such as sleeping well before the exam, taking good breakfast, reaching the exam centre on time, etc. were my specific exam day strategy", added Dr Batra.

In a message to NEET PG 2022 aspirants, the topper said, “Trust your instincts, most of the time the correct answer is the one which you guess at the first go. Don’t lose hope, believe in yourself.”

“Most importantly, it’s just an exam, don’t get disheartened if the results are not up to your expectations. Remember that a rank does not define you.” Shagun Batra added.
