NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court is likely to hear the petition seeking National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-postgraduate (NEET PG 2023) on Monday or Tuesday, the national chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), Rohan Krishnan said. Aspirants have been flooding Twitter with requests to postpone NEET PG 2023 by 2-3 months, however, the health minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed the Lok Sabha that the NEET PG 2023 exam will not be postponed. However, the ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) had extended the last date of MBBS internship cut-off date to August 11 to prevent prospective candidates from becoming ineligible for the medical entrance exam.

The Telangana High Court which recently dismissed the plea seeking postponement had suggested the National Medical Commission (NMC) to reconsider the NEET PG 223 exam date. “If the FMGE exam can be rescheduled 15 days before the exam due to elections, NEET PG can and should be postponed considering the genuine cause, the FAIMA national chairman tweeted.

The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) exam which was scheduled on December 4 was postponed mid-November due to Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) December exam. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has rescheduled the exam on January 20.

Requesting the health minister to once again consider the NEET PG 2023 postponement demands, Rohan Krishnan informed that the FAIMA has planned for a joint representation of all major organisations to be sent to the Prime Minister’s office for postponement. “Hearing for SC could be Monday / Tuesday, the exact date shall be clear by tomorrow,” he added.
