NEET PG 2025 answer key out; NBEMS breaks tradition, publishes question IDs, response sheets

Ending years of student appeal, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has published the NEET PG 2025 answer key along with candidates’ response sheet - a first in the history of postgraduate medical entrance examination. NEET PG 2025 LIVE Updates

Candidates will be able to view and download the NEET PG answer key and their response sheet from the official website, natboard.edu.in, using their login credentials. The NEET PG answer key will contain question IDs, correct answers, and responses recorded.

This year, around 2.42 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET PG exam 2025. Following the Supreme Court directive , the NBEMS, which initially scheduled the exam in two shifts, decided that it will conduct the exam in a single shift to avoid using the normalisation method, which created widespread chaos and confusion last year, delaying the admission process entirely.

The NEET PG results 2025 were declared on August 19, ie, 16 days after the exam was conducted. However, several candidates have been claiming discrepancies in the marks stating gaps ranging from 50 to 100 marks in some cases.

The landmark decision on publication of the NEET PG answer key was announced a day after the NEET PG results. Immediately after, the NBEMS corrected its notice and clarified that it will only issue question IDs instead of questions, along with answer key and responses marked. Several candidates demanded full questions and suggested a preferred format to publish the answer key.

However, the NBEMS has uploaded the NEET PG answer key with question IDs and recorded responses of candidates.

Why do aspirants call it historic?

For years, NEET PG aspirants have been demanding answer keys arguing that the lack of transparency forced them to approach the Supreme Court and high courts. Protests on social media have been calling for accountability from NBEMS, especially due to alleged discrepancies in merit list and NEET PG marks.

However, the NBEMS has maintained that its exam policy does not allow publishing the content of the examinations, due to the possible misuse of question paper bank and exam contents by coaching centres and others.

It also “prohibits the candidate, from reproducing, transmitting or publishing any or some contents of this exam, in whole or in part, in any form or by any means verbal or written, electronic or mechanical for any purpose whatsoever”. By registering for the exam, a candidate explicitly agrees to this non-disclosure agreement.

The NBEMS has broken this tradition and published the answer key today.
