Download nowIn a glaring oversight, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has reportedly issued the NEET PG city slip that only mentions the state and not the specific city. Many candidates have taken to social media demanding clarity, with some even pointing out the irony of having to explain the basic difference between a state and a city to the examination board.
A student from Maharashtra wrote on X: “And the #NEETPG saga continues. They never fail to amaze us. #NEETPG2025 They said about revealing center City but now they have sent me about the state.”
Another candidate who was allotted Rajasthan as "exam city" shared the screenshot of the city slip with a sarcastic post – “Salute to NBEMS”.
A NEET PG aspirant shared the screenshot of the city slip, which mentioned Gujarat as the city, and wrote: “Some students get state as city hope NBEMS know that Gujarat is not city and resolve this.”
NEET PG 2025 controversy
The NBEMS, which initially planned to conduct the exam in two shifts, had to revert to single-shift format after strong opposition from aspirants and subsequent Supreme Court order. Following this, the NBEMS requested the top court to postpone the exam to August 3 and allow more time for arranging additional exam centres.
It also opened the NEET PG choice filling facility for a limited period of time. The NEET PG advanced exam city slip is issued to inform students about the location where their exam centre is likely to be allocated. The NEET PG admit card 2025 is uploaded a few days before the exam. The hall ticket, different from the city slip, will have complete information of the exam schedule, candidate’s personal details, and address of the exam centre.
However, the NEET PG city slip only mentions the state, defeating the core purpose. Whether this glitch has affected all applicants or just a select few is unclear.
