Doctors attributed the delay in NEET PG counselling 2025 to the NMC's failure to approve the seat matrix and lack of accountability. They alleged that the NMC is "being politically controlled".

Use NowDoctors’ groups have criticised the National Medical Commission (NMC) for delaying the admission and turning the NEET PG counselling 2025 into a “mockery”. Over 70 days after the exam, nearly 2 lakh medical graduates awaiting admission for MD, MS seats have been left in limbo, with no clarity on dates and a pending Supreme Court order on transparency. The NMC, regulatory body of medical education, is yet to approve the seat matrix, an initial step crucial for the NEET PG counselling. The doctors group said that the delay is also caused due to the pending Supreme Court hearing on the NEET PG transparency case.
The top court had given the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) a two-week period to respond. As per the sources, the Supreme Court is likely to take up the matter on October 28, which may further delay the counselling depending on the decision.
As frustration mounts due to delay in MCC NEET PG counselling and zero clarification regarding alleged NEET PG result discrepancies, doctors take to X to express the issue faced by aspirants.

NEET PG 2025: 'No timeline, no respect'
Nachiket Bhatia wrote on X: “Every year it's the same circus. NEET PG exams get delayed, results come late, and counselling never starts on time. Every delay pushes their future back by months. Doctors give years of their life for this, but the system keeps testing their patience instead of their merit.
“No timeline. No accountability. No respect. How long before the system learns to respect their time?” Bhatia said.
Criticising the functioning of the NMC, Dr Sumit K said: “NMC has turned PG/ UG/ SS counselling into a complete mockery. NEET PG 2025 counselling was delayed for over 70+ days after the exam — and apparently only 2 out of 24 members are working. A totally corrupt, dysfunctional, and impotent body. Shame on @NMC_BHARAT.”

Doctors slam NMC’s functioning
The Federation of All India Medical Association ( FAIMA ) has also raised the issue, citing a video message by Dr Rohan Krishnan, an orthopedic surgeon and an advocate for medical aspirants, who explained in detail the administrative lapses within the NMC.
In a 11-minute video, Rohan Krishnan attributed the delay to failure in approving seats for NEET PG counselling and lack of accountability in the commission. He alleged that the NMC is “being politically controlled” and is not represented by doctors.
“Out of 24 members, only two remain active… How can a national regulatory body function like this?” he asked, questioning the decision-making capacity of the NMC.
