NEET PG 2024 aspirants move SC against NBEMS, demand answer key to ensure transparency in exam

Use NowNEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will hear the petition filed by as many as 19 NEET PG aspirants against the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). The candidates have been demanding for NEET PG answer key, response sheet, and details of pre-normalised scores for more clarity on results. The NEET PG Supreme Court case will be heard by the apex court on September 13, the petitioners said.
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) exam was held on August 11 for 2,28,540 candidates and the results were declared on August 23 at the NBEMS. Candidates have been demanding the NBE to publish the provisional answer key and detailed normalisation method adopted by the board to prepare NEET PG results.
Meanwhile, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the NEET PG counselling dates 2024 and informed that the registration process for the all India quota (AIQ) seats for admission into MD, MS, PG diploma courses, post MBBS DNB, 6-year DrNB, and NBEMS diploma courses will begin on September 20. The MCC NEET PG counselling 2024 registration link will be hosted on the official website, mcc.nic.in. However, the petitioners have asked the top court to direct the MCC to put the NEET PG counselling on hold.

The NEET PG 2024 candidates filed a petition in the Supreme Court on September 6 seeking details of the normalisation method used to prepare the NEET PG results and to provide an option for revaluation to petitioners aggrieved by the results.
They also requested the court to direct the NBE to publish the response sheet of all candidates along with the raw or pre-normalised scores as well as normalised scores.
Moreover, the students demanded that the NEET PG answer key, question paper and the option of revaluation be provided to candidates in the upcoming years as well to ensure transparency in the examination process. “Pass any other such further or other writ, order or directions as this Hon’ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the present case,” it added.
The NBEMS is expected to uploaded the NEET PG scorecard 2024 for all qualified candidates on the official website, nbe.edu.in.
