NEW DELHI: Allegations of paper leak, last-minute changes in exam, and delay in the NEET PG counselling 2924 have left aspirants in limbo. Meanwhile, 19 aspirants have approached the Supreme Court against the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and demanded release of NEET PG answer key and clarity on the normalisation rule to ensure transparency in the national-level exam. While over 2 lakh candidates await clarity on NEET PG results and counselling, here’s what we know so far.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), which conducts the counselling for UG and PG medical courses, has started the facility for changing nationality from Indian to Non-Resident Indian (NRI) for the NEET PG counselling. The notification was made available yesterday.

Notably, the NBE has not announced the NEET PG cut-offs or raw scores yet. As aspirants await clarity on NEET PG results 2024, the delay in counselling has left candidates without a respite in sight. NEET PG is a national-level medical entrance exam for candidates seeking admission into MD, MS, post-MBBS diploma courses, and other allied courses.

NEET PG counselling date 2024 out?

Yes. NEET PG counselling dates 2024 are out. However, the results have been marred by controversies. As per the schedule shared by Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) and some medical colleges, the MCC NEET PG counselling 2024 registration for round 1 will begin on September 20. However, the NEET PG counselling 2024 date and schedule have not been updated on the MCC official website, mcc.nic.in.

Recently, the NRI conversion dates, which is generally the first step of MCC counselling, was notified on September 13. Candidates who wish to convert their nationality to NRI have been permitted to submit their request by September 17 through the portal.

NEET PG SC hearing latest updates

Candidates who appeared in the NEET PG exam held on August 11 for 2,28,540 registered candidates have been expressing concerns about the exam since the revision of exam date. The allegations on irregularities of the exam grew after the NEET PG results were declared indicating inflation in marks. Careers360 analysed and found that 2,185 candidates have scored above 99 percentile.

Seeking clarity on the normalisation method, the NEET PG aspirants also demanded the top court to direct the NBEMS to provide facility for the petitioners to apply for revaluation of the results. The petitioners have sought the board to upload the individual response sheet, answer key, raw score obtained by all candidates and details of methods used to prepare results.

The apex court heard the matter on September 13 and CJI DY Chandrachud has sought response from the NBEMS . The matter will be next heard on September 20; the same date when the counselling registration is scheduled to begin.
