NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) anytime soon at neet.nta.nic.in. Aspirants who wish to become doctors most likely pursue the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). However, considering the seats availability and the number of candidates appearing for NEET every year, it’s not possible for every candidate to enrol themself for MBBS.

Having said that, candidates who wish to make a career in the field of medicine have an option to choose courses other than MBBS through NEET 2021. Aspirants are advised to read further to know more details on the medical courses other than MBBS.

NEET 2021 result: Eligibility for top medical courses other than MBBS

Candidates who wish to pursue medical courses other than MBBS, must appear and qualify for NEET 2021. Such candidates must also fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the authorities. The same has been mentioned below.

  • The minimum age of the student must be 17 years.

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 from a recognised board.

  • Students should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their classes 11 and 12.

  • Candidates must score at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination. For SC, ST, and OBC category candidates, the minimum marks required for MBBS admission are 40%.

Medical courses through NEET 2021

Given below is the list of medical courses other than MBBS that candidates can opt for.

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) through NEET 2021

Candidates who have a keen interest in dental surgery can pursue BDS through NEET 2021. Such candidates can further pursue a career as a Dentist, Dental Technician, Prosthodontist, Dental Hygienist, and Dental Consultant.

AYUSH courses through NEET 2021

Aspirants who are interested in the field of AYUSH can pursue courses such as Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Sciences (BNYS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) and Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS). The duration of AYUSH courses through NEET 2021 is 5.5 years. The AYUSH course through NEET exam is being regulated by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).

Veterinary courses through NEET 2021

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) is a 5.5 years degree course which deals in the study of medicine, diagnosis and treatment of diseases for all animals. After BVSc and AH, candidates can pursue their career as a veterinary surgeon, veterinarian, food animals veterinarians, veterinary food inspection specialist and others.

BSc Nursing courses through NEET 2021

From this year onwards, the admission to BSc nursing courses will also be granted through NEET. As of now, the DMER Maharashtra, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and JIPMER institute have released the notice to grant BSc nursing admissions through NEET 2021 scores.
