NEW DELHI: The Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to allow PG holders in Traumatology and Surgery to appear for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET SS 2024) exam. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will hold the exam on March 29 and 30.
“PG degree holders in Traumatology and Surgery have been made eligible to appear in NEETSS 2024 provisionally for MCh Courses in Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery; subject to approval of PGMER (Postgraduate Medical Education Regulation) 2025 and its publication in the Gazette of India,” the NBEMS said in its latest notification.
The NBEMS has fixed April 30, 2025, as the cut-off date for qualifying MD, MS, DNB broad specialty, eligible feeder qualification.
Candidates from all eligible feeder specialty subjects will be required to appear in the question paper of the respective group, if they are willing to opt for a superspecialty seat in any of the NEET SS courses covered in that group.

The entrance exam was not held last year due to delay in the admission process of the previous years. The NEET SS registration 2024 started on February 4 and will remain open till February 24 on the official website, natboard.edu.in. Applicants will be given an opportunity to edit the details submitted in the form from February 27 to March 3. After the correction window is closed, the NBE will issue admit cards four days before the NEET SS exam date 2024, on March 25.
