NEW DELHI: Admission to Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical and Surgery (BAMS) will be done through the NEET UG 2023 merit list. The National Testing Agency (NTA) had in detail announced the eligibility criteria, reservation and admission process for students who are interested in studying Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy courses. The NTA recently said that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG 2023) result is expected to be declared this week. Over 20 lakh medical aspirants are awaiting the NEET UG results 2023.
Students must note that admission to all seats of undergraduate Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Homeopathy courses will be done through NEET UG 2023 as per the provisions of the regulatory bodies of the courses under the ministry of Ayush.

Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks taken together in physics, chemistry and biology in Class 12, and reserved category students should have obtained a
minimum of 40% marks. Candidates with physical disabilities belonging to general category should have passed Class 12 with 45% and PWD SC, ST, OBC candidates should have secured 40%.
As per the NEET UG age criteria, no candidate will be admitted to BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS degree courses unless they have attained the age of seventeen years on or before the 31 December of the year of his admission in the first year of the course.

For admission to the Bachelor of Unani Medical and Surgery (BUMS) course, candidate should have passed the Class 10 or 12 standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as one of the subject, or “shall have to study Urdu language along with Arabic and Mantiq wa Falsafa (Logic and Philosophy) as a subject during the first professional BUMS course”, the NEET UG notification read.
For admission to the Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) course, aspirants should have also passed Tamil as one of the subjects in the Class 10 or higher secondary course.
Medical aspirants with a minimum of marks at 50th percentile will be eligible for admission to Ayurveda course. Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Caste (OBC) should have obtained a minimum of 40th percentile. All India Merit List of the qualified candidates will be prepared based on the NEET UG 2023 results.

Following the NEET results 2023, Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) will be conducting counselling for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats of private ASU & H institutes and counselling for state quota seats will be conducted by respective state government counselling authority.
