The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai – DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) has released the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026 admit card on the official website of NEST at nestexam.in.

To access the hall ticket, applicants have to enter the details, including application number or user ID and password. The NEST 2026 examination which is conducted for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc programs in basic sciences will be held on June 6, 2026.

Candidates appearing for the examination must carry a printed copy of the NEST 2026 admit card along with a valid photo identity proof to the exam centre. Accepted ID proofs include Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card, passport, driving licence, or a college ID card. Candidates without these required documents may not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

NEST admit card 2026: Steps to download

To download the NEST 2026 admit card, aspirants need to follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of NEST at nestexam.in
  • On the homepage, click on the 'download admit card' link
  • Enter the details, including application number / user ID and password
  • Download the admit card and take a printout for further reference

After downloading the hall ticket, candidates should carefully verify all the details mentioned on it, including the candidate’s name, roll number, photograph and signature, exam date and time, exam centre name and address, reporting time, and important exam-day instructions. In case of any discrepancy or incorrect information on the admit card, candidates must immediately contact the examination authorities for correction.

NEST 2026: Exam patttern and Marking scheme

The NEST 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for a duration of three hours. The question paper will comprise four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, with each section carrying 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for a total of 60 marks. Candidates are required to attempt at least three sections.

As per the marking scheme, each correct answer will fetch three marks, while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions. The merit list will be prepared based on the best three section scores out of the four sections.
