NTA: Candidates can apply for the UGC NET 2026 exam on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in; Exams from June 22 to 20 for 87 subjects

UGC NET 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration for University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2026) on May 20. NTA will hold the UGC NET 2026 exam from June 22 to 30 for 87 subjects. Candidates who have not completed their UGC NET 2026 application form can do so on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

As per the UGC NET June exam 2026 schedule, candidates will get updates on exam city and admit card by June 10 and 15, respectively.
For the UGC NET June 2026 exam, candidates in the general category must pay an application fee of Rs 1,150. Applicants belonging to the General EWS and OBC-NCL categories are required to pay Rs 600, while candidates from other categories need to pay Rs 325.
Notably, UGC has added two new subjects – forestry and statistics – starting from the NET June 2026 exam.

Candidates who have not yet completed the UGC NET application 2026 process are once again advised to ensure the details listed below.
According to the official UGC NET 2026 NTA advisory, candidates are advised to check all the details filled in the application form, such as their name, parents’ name, social category, subject opted, scribe requirement status, etc., before making the fee payment, as no request for change will be accepted.

Consent and form submission
NTA conducts the UGC NET exam twice a year in June and December for junior research fellowship and assistant professor positions, and also determines eligibility for PhD admissions in Indian universities and colleges.
