NIIT University appoints Prabhu Aggarwal as its president

NEW DELHI: Prabhu Aggarwal, a leader in engineering, management and leadership development will become the next president of NIIT University, or NU.
A statement from NU said Prabhu Aggarwal succeeds VS Rao, whose tenure ended on June 30.
The new president comes with extensive global expertise in the fields of engineering, process management, education and leadership development spanning over three decades.
Earlier he was with the Mason School of Business, College of William & Mary, Virginia, USA where he led the Center for Professional Development Programs for working professionals.
He has been the founding Vice Chancellor of OP Jindal University (Raigarh) and later on the academic advisor to the National Rail and Transportation Institute.
K Kasturirangan, chairperson of NU said Prabhu Aggarwal brings three decades of academic experience to the university.“His unique blend of experience will help advance our mission of building innovation in higher education”.
Rajendra S Pawar, chairman of NIIT and NU founder said, "Prabhu Aggarwal's "comprehensive experience in the field of engineering and management development will further strengthen the core principles of NU”.
Speaking on the appointment, the new president of NU said: "I look forward to the opportunity to guide the future of NIIT University; particularly given the enormous challenges posed by current uncertainties and therefore new prospects that higher education is faced with in the present times. ”
NNIT University, established in 2009 is based out of Neemrana in Rajasthan.
