The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli has opened the online application forms for the NIT Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) for master in computer applications (MCA) today. Candidates can submit their applications through the official portal at nimcet.admissions.nic.in.
The deadline to complete the NIMCET 2026 application process is May 1, up to 5 pm. The entrance examination will be conducted in computer-based mode on June 6 in a single shift from 2 pm to 4 pm.
NIT Tiruchirappalli will organise NIMCET 2026 for admission to the MCA programme offered across 11 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and two Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) for the 2026–27 academic session.
The MCA programme is available at NITs located in Tiruchirappalli, Agartala, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Patna, Raipur, Kurukshetra, Meghalaya and Warangal, along with IIITs in Bhopal and Vadodara.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% marks or 6 CGPA for SC, ST and PwD candidates) and should have studied mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects. Candidates possessing a BE or BTech degree from a recognised university are also eligible to apply.

Candidates can follow the below steps to apply for NIMCET 2026;

Register Online: Visit the official website at nimcet.admissions.nic.in and access the registration link to create a new account using a valid email ID and mobile number.

Complete the Application Form: Log in with your credentials and enter all required personal, academic, and contact information carefully.

Choose Examination Centres: Select up to three preferred exam cities for NIMCET 2026 in order of priority.

Upload Required Documents: Provide scanned and self-attested copies of your recent photograph, signature, academic mark sheets, and a valid photo identification proof.

Pay the Application Fee: Make the payment online through available options such as net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI (as per the prescribed category-wise fee).

Final Submission: After reviewing all details, submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
