Selected NISD interns will work in domains like senior citizens care, drug abuse prevention and other social defence issues.

NEW DELHI: National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) has invited application for internships for undergraduate, post graduate students, and research scholars.
"NISD internship scheme under ministry of social justice and empowerment will engage the students pursuing graduate, post graduate degrees or research scholars enrolled in recognized university, institutions within India as "interns". These interns shall be given exposure to various divisions within NISD," said the notification issued by the Institute
The students interested to apply for the internship can apply before October 25 on the official website of NISD on nisd.gov.in/internship . The internship opportunity offers short term exposure to different divisions of the institute. Selected candidates will be offered to work and acquire exposures from domains like senior citizens care, drug abuse prevention and other social defence issues.

The opportunity has been started with an objective to allow young academic talents to work with NISD’s and understand its functioning. The interns will be provided with opportunities to explore the functions of the different divisions of the NISD and their programmes and policies. The opportunity aims at providing a common platform to the students and the officers of the authority to interact with each other and conceptualize new and innovative ideas and inputs. The program will also provide a framework to students to enhance their educational experience.

Interested applicants can apply online and mention the area of interest in their application. As per the guidelines, once selected, applicants have to produce a letter of recommendation from the college or institution at the time of joining. The Internship opportunity will be available throughout the year as per the requirements of NISD.

A candidate can apply for the internship only once during a financial year. A total of 5 interns will be selected for internship at a time for each division, and the internship will be for a period of minimum four weeks, and it will be extended upto three months.
