NIT Andhra Pradesh offers short-term online course on blockchains from February 7 to 11

NEW DELHI: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh is offering a short-term online course on ‘Technical Overview of Public and Private Blockchains’ from February 7 to 11.

The online course is open to computer science engineers, research scientists interested in blockchains, IT professionals working as Blockchain Architect, Blockchain Developers, Blockchain Network operators or a user besides students, faculty and researchers.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Andhra Pradesh is conducting the online course.

  • The primary objectives of the online course are:
  • Exposing participants to the current state-of-the-art public and private blockchains,
  • Providing tools to the participants so that they can critically evaluate which problems could benefit from this technology and those that do not,
  • Providing exposure to architectural overview and drawing a contrast between public and private blockchains,
  • Presenting practical problems and offering solutions through case studies in blockchains,
  • Pointing to several research and development efforts that are underway and some challenges that lie ahead.

Professor C S P Rao, Director, NIT Andhra Pradesh presided over the virtual inauguration function as the Chief Guest. He enlightened the participants with an overview on the technological evolution in the Blockchains domain and outlined the importance of comprehending this evolving domain and contribute to the R&D efforts. He wished the coordinator of the course Karthick Seshadri, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering success in organizing this first GIAN course by NIT Andhra Pradesh.

Highlighting the unique aspects of this course, the first Course Instructor Professor Ramki Thurimella, Professor Emeritus, Department of Computer Science, University of Denver, US, spoke about the components of the course, course outcomes and expressed his best wishes for the participants of this course.
