JoSAA opening and closing ranks: The female-only seats reserved under other state categories saw more competition this year, especially in architecture where the admission was closed at AIR 12 in the first round.
National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, the only NIT ranked in the top 10 engineering colleges in India in NIRF Rankings, remains the desired college for popular courses. NIT Trichy’s BTech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) continue to be the most sought-after courses across all categories.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2025 ( JoSAA 2025 ) has declared the round 1 counselling results for NIT JEE Main counselling. As per the JoSAA opening and closing ranks, the female-only seats reserved under other state categories saw more competition this year, especially in architecture where the admission was closed at AIR 12 in the first round.
The NIT Trichy cut-off for BTech CSE for gender-neutral category has dropped from 1019 to 1104 in round 1. However, the NIT Trichy cut-off for female-only seats reserved for other state candidates has been increased from 1945 to AIR 1646.
Courses like civil engineering, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering saw a marginal difference in the cut-off for various categories.
