NRTI Admissions 2018: Application process begins for UG programmes; Admission test in July

NEW DELHI, MAY 30: The National Rail and Transport Institute (NRTI) kick-started its first academic session by beginning the application process, today. The UGC approved ‘Deemed-to-be-University’ will be holding an admission test, NRTI Admission Aptitude Test (NRTI-AAT) in the month of July. The classes are commencing from August, this year, at Vadodara campus.

LATEST – As per the Indian Express reports, till now, over 3500 candidates have applied for the NRTI programmes.

India’s first university under the de-Novo category will be offering admissions focussed on transport-related education, multidisciplinary research and training. The institute will be offering undergraduate admissions for the Inaugural Cohort (2018-21) batch in the BSc and BBA programmes.

The institute is offering as many as 100 seats across the two undergraduate programmes.

The UG admissions will be based on the NRTI-AAT, for which the dates and exam centres will be announced later.

Am I eligible?

The candidates interested in applying for BSc in Transportation Technology will need to have qualified Class 12th Board Exam with a minimum score of 55 per cent. Further, such candidates should have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their core subjects.

Moreover, those applying for BBA in Transportation Management programme need to have scored at least 55 per cent in their Class 12 Board Exam with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

The reserved category candidates (OBC/SC/ST) should also fulfil the above mentioned academic criteria. However, they are offered a five per cent relaxation in the minimum marks, i.e., 50 per cent in an aggregate of the subjects.

Is there any age cap?

Most importantly, the NRTI UG applicants should not be more than 25 years of age as on August 1, 2018.

How to apply?

The candidates can apply for the undergraduate admissions at NRTI through online mode, for which pre-application registration will be required.

Following the registration, candidates will need to visit the official website.

The candidates will further need to enter a variety of details including Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Residential Address, Contact Details and Academic Qualification.

After this registration, a message will be displayed, “Thank you for registering for NRTI's Under Graduate Programme. We will be in touch shortly with further details.”

The selection process

The registered applicants will then be shortlisted based on their Class XII Board marks, for the next level of NRTI selection process.

The shortlisted candidates will be, further, contacted by the Institute for filling the second part of NRTI application form including the selection of test centre location and upload of required documents including Class XII mark-sheets and photograph.

They will also need to remit an application fee.

The final selection will be based on NRTI Admission Aptitude Test (NRTI-AAT) scores.

How much I’ve to pay?

The total fee for the undergraduate programmes including BBA and BSc is Rs. 82,500. Find below the division of fees–

About NRTI

The Railway University, a brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, got its approval last year, from the Cabinet.
