NTA extends DHR-ICMR 2024 Biomedical Research Eligibility Test application last date to July 30

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date to submit the application form for DHR-ICMR 2024 - Biomedical Research Eligibility Test (BRET) for non-medical fellowship for PhD 2024. Eligible candidates will have to register on the NTA official website, icmr24.onlineregistrationform.org, before July 30.

The tentative BRET exam date 2024 was July 31, however, it is expected to be revised as the correction facility will be made available from July 31 to August 1. The exam is held for determining the eligibility of Indian national candidates for the award of junior research fellowship (JRF) through DHR-ICMR.

A total of 500 fellowships will be awarded to work in the field of biomedical sciences, the testing agency informed. The award of fellowship to the qualified and eligible candidates will depend on their finding placement in a medical college as per the two categories given below.

  • To pursue doctoral degree from UGC-recognized universities, research institutions, or institutes of national importance in India.
  • To pursue the doctoral degree from 27 ICMR institutes, wherein they will be registered for PhD under the newly established AcSIR-ICMR Faculty of Medical Research.

NTA BRET 2024 registration process

Registration - Candidates will have to register using email ID and mobile number to fill online application form.

Application form - After successful registration, candidates will have to enter their personal and academic details by logging in using the application number generated.

Upload documents - Now proceed to upload scanned images of the following documents.

  • A recent photograph in jpg file with size between 10Kb – 200Kb either in colour or black and white with 80% face. Applicants should not be wearing masks and the photo should be clicked in white background.
  • Candidate’s signature in jpg format with file size between 4kb - 30kb
  • Duly verified result appearing or awaited form in PDF format file size between 50KB to 500KB
  • Category certificate and PwD certificate, if applicable, in PDF format file size between 50KB to 300KB

Payment of fees - Payment of fees - Make the application fee payment through net banking, debit card, credit card and UPI. Take a printout of the payment confirmation page. General, general-EWS candidate will have to pay Rs 1,800, OBC(NCL), SC, ST will have to pay Rs 1,500, and PwBD, third gender will have to pay Rs 1,200.

Submit form - Review all the details entered in the application and submit. Now download the confirmation page.
