NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has ended the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2025 session 1 exam today, January 30. The agency also conducted the UGC NET December 2024 exam for 85 subjects from January 3 to 27, 2025. "The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted UGC - NET December 2024 for 85 subjects from 03rd January 2025 to 27th January 2025 and the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)- 2025 Session - I from 22nd January 2025 to 30th January 2025", the official notice read.

UGC NET December 2024 recorded 76.5% attendance

The UGC NET December 2024 examination was conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 558 exam centers in 266 cities nationwide. A total of 8,49,166 candidates had registered, out of which 6,49,490 appeared for the exam. The overall attendance rate stood at 76.5%.

The examination is conducted candidates for eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.

The JEE Main 2025 session 1 was conducted from January 22 to January 30, 2025, across 598 exam centres in 284 cities in India, as well as in 15 international centers.

Over 13.78 lakh candidates had registered for the examination, with 13 lakh candidates appearing for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. The attendance rate for this exam stood at 94.4%. Notably, while the JEE Main paper 1 was administered in CBT mode, paper-2 (Drawing test) was held in offline mode.

Enhanced security measures for exams

The NTA ensured the security and integrity of the exams with the deployment of advanced measures such as live CCTV surveillance, biometric authentication, and the installation of mobile jammers at all exam centers. These measures were aimed at preventing any form of cheating or malpractice during the examination process.

Additionally, the NTA appointed a sufficient number of City Coordinators and Observers in various cities to closely monitor the examination process. As per the official press release, the agency worked in close coordination with state and district authorities to ensure that the exams were conducted smoothly, and all necessary facilities were provided to candidates.
