NTA NEET 2020 Admit Card Live Updates: Over 10 lakh admit card downloaded despite postponement protests

Seeing the numbers of NTA NEET admit card downloads which are over 10 lakhs in just 24 hours, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that student wants to appear for NEET exam at any cost. In order to avoid any kind of inconvenience, the centers of the NEET 2020 exam have also been increased so that the exam will be conducted smoothly.  

NTA DG told me that 7.5 lakhs out of 8.58 lakhs candidates in JEE have downloaded admit cards. For NEET, over 10 lakhs out of 15.97 lakhs candidates downloaded admit cards in 24 hrs. As per the recent reports, as many as 9,94,198 NTA NEET admit card 2020 downloads have been done. Earlier, more than 4 lakh aspirants had downloaded the admit cards within 3 hours of release of NEET hall ticket.

The education minister of Tamil Nadu, K A Sengottaiyan, in a press conference has requested the central government to either postpone NEET entrance exam or exemption of the state medical aspirants to attend the exam.

As per the reports, more than 9 lakh admit cards of NEET have been downloaded by aspirants amid protest against conducting the exams due to COVID-19 pandemic. As per the data till 10:00 AM, a total of 9,09,481 candidates have downloaded their nta neet admit card using the download link.

As per the recent reports, a total of 6.84 lakh candidates have downloaded NEET admit card 2020 in the first 5 hours, since the release of the same at 11:55 AM today. Aspirants can check the tweets of Prasar Bharati News Service regarding the NEET UG admit card from below.

In a live interview with the Doordarshan Vineet Joshi, Director General of the National Testing Agency said that candidates coming from containment zones to appear for the medical entrance test can use the ntaneet.nic.in admit card as a pass. NTA DG has ensured aspirants that NEET 2020 exam will be conducted by taking full safety measures.  

IIT Delhi Director V Ramgopal Rao said that any postponement in NEET 2020 examination will have "serious repercussions" on both medical education academic calendar and the career of bright students.
IIT Director also added that we have already lost so many months and the risk of coronavirus is not going to end soon. So we cannot be perpetually in lockdown mode. He also urged also aspirants to "trust the institutions" and take the entrance tests while following the COVID-19 safety guidelines.  

As per the sources, On Wednesday after the release of NEET 2020 Admit, over four lakh admit cards for the medical entrance exam were downloaded within just three hours. As per the official NTA press release around 15.97 lakh aspirants have been registered for NEET 2020 for which a number of examination centres from 2,546 to 3,843. 

After downloading the admit card, it is important to check the details printed on it. Aspirants can also check the following changes which have been made in the available admit card of NEET 2020 as compared to previous years. 

• Special COVID-19 instructions have been mentioned in the nta.ac.in NEET 2020 admit card.

• Reporting time slots will also be mentioned in the NEET admit card 2020 (for example- 11.00 AM.to 11.30 AM)

• Items that candidates can take inside the examination hall will be mentioned.

• A hyperlink to the location of the centre so that aspirants may verify the location of the NEET 2020 exam centre in advance by clicking on the link (when a candidate clicks the Centre details).

• In case of a PwD candidate availing a scribe, both the candidate and scribe are required to wear the masks.

Along with the admit card of NEET 2020, NTA has released COVID-19 Advisory for medical aspirants to ensure the smooth completion of the entrance test. The advisory mentions the three major measures to be undertaken by the authorities, staff, candidates and their guardians at the exam centres. These include guidelines for pre-examination, during the exam, and post-examination.

Preparation at centre

• SOPs for implementing safety precautions and for maintaining the required standard of hygiene are getting implemented.
• Seating Area will be thoroughly sanitized. All door handles, staircase railing, lift buttons, etc will be disinfected. Wheelchairs (if present at the venue) will be disinfected.
• The gap between 2 seats will be maintained as per GOI guidelines.
• Hand Sanitizer will be available at entry and inside the exam venue at various places for candidates and centre staff to use.
• Thermo guns will be available in the Registration Room to check body temperature of candidates. The Room/Hall number will be informed to the candidate inside the Registration Room.
• It is ensured that all the processes are touch free to ensure Social Distancing norms.
• Candidate to reach Centre as per the Reporting/Entry time at Centre given in the Admit Card to avoid any crowding at the Centre at the time of entry and to maintain social distancing.

Pre-Exam Preparation

• Candidate to check Reporting/ Entry time at Centre given in the Admit Card and to reach centre as per Reporting time only to avoid any crowding at the Centre at the time of entry and to maintain social distancing.
• Candidate should fill NEET UG Admit Card and Undertaking completely and properly, as per the instructions.
• Candidates will be permitted to carry only certain items with them into the venue.

NEET 2020 admit card reporting time and entry of candidate

• To avoid crowding at the NEET examination centre entrance, candidates will be given staggered time slots for reporting.

• A prior communication on this process of staggered entry will be shared with the candidates through admit card and through SMS.

• Security guards at the gates must wear masks and gloves as they become the first point of contact for all candidates.

During Examination

• Candidates can sanitize their hands with sanitizer available in the examination room/hall.
• Candidates are required to paste passport size photograph and sign on the Attendance sheet and NEET 2020 Admit Card after sanitizing hands with sanitizer.
• In order to stop the chances of any UFM being used in the examination, the candidate is expected to wear the freshly provided mask at the NEET exam centre. The candidate will be required to remove the mask worn by him/ her from home and use the mask provided at the centre in the examination room.

After Examination

• On completion of the NEET exam, the candidates will be permitted to move out in an orderly manner one candidate at a time. 
• Duly filled NEET admit card 2020 at the end of the examination must be handed over to the Invigilator.

NTA has released the admit card for NEET 2020 on August 26 at ntaneet.nic.in. Only the registered candidates can download NTA NEET admit card using application number, password, date of birth and security pin. NTA has released the press release regarding the conduct of NEET 2020, on September 13. Authorities have assured to release the admit card of NEET 2020 shortly and they have ensured that more than 99% of candidates get their first choice of Centre Cities.

If there will be chances where downloaded ntaneet.nic.in admit card will lose, aspirants are advised not to panic, and check their registered email ID. As per the official brochure, NTA will send NEET 2020 admit card PDF to the mail ID after the issuance date. Aspirants can download it and save it for future references.

As NTA has specified the NEET admit card 2020 release date, August 29, in case if the application number of candidates is lost or forgotten. Candidates can use the following steps can be used to retrieve it to download NEET 2020 admit card.

• Click on ‘Forgot registration number’ link under current events

• Submit the asked details like candidate’s name, name of parents, date of birth, category and security pin

• Application number to download the NEET admit card will be sent to the registered email ID

NEET admit card 2020 download link will be functional in this week. Since NEET UG is on September 13, 2020, it is expected that nta.neet.nic admit card will be available by August 29 at ntaneet.nic.in in PDF format. 

As per the NTA press release, candidates were given five times opportunity to edit their details and exam centres in the application form. In a press release for NTA NEET, it has been mentioned that the admit cards will be released shortly at ntaneet.nic.in. It also specifies that NEET (UG) 2020 will be conducted on the schedule date - September 13. As many as 99.87% candidates will be allotted the exam centre as per their first preference filled during registration. Check the official notice below.

 NTA released a notice on the intervening night of August 20 and 21, 2020, stating that the exam is scheduled to be held on September 13 and NEET admit card will be released shortly. Through the notice, the authorities also informed that candidates have been allotted exam centre city, which can be checked by them using the Candidate Login.
