NTPC, IIM-A jointly launch 2 Yr MBA on Energy Management
NEW DELHI, MARCH 7: NTPC School of Business (NSB) and the Indian Institute of Management- Ahmedabad have announced to start a two year MBA degree programme to churn out management graduates with focus on energy management sector.
The two premier organisations under a joint initiative have collaborated to create a world class research institute for policy prescription for the energy management sector. NSB and the IIM-A both will share the intellectual property rights (IPR) over new products developed as part of the joint research at the institute.
Under the scheme of arrangement, NSB, guided and shepherded by IIM-A specialists, will seek applications from aspirants for MBA degree from April this year for a two year degree course from aspirants with specialization in energy sector.
120 seats will be offered in the first year at the NSB’s Noida campus, which has residential facility for students.
Prof Sunil K Maheshwari, HRM and Strategic Management, IIM- A said, “The role of IIM-A will be to help NSB in conducting and designing this program with their faculty. It will also help in recruiting faculty as well as staff.”
Saptarshi Roy, Director (Human Resources), NTPC Ltd said that the energy sector is going through a lot of transformation and is also crucial for the growth of the economy. To play that role in an effective manner, we need leaders who can drive the sector so that’s why we decided to come up with this course.
