BHUBANESHWAR: The class 12 board examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) began in Odisha today, officials said.
More than 3.5 lakh students appeared for the examinations under Arts, Science and Commerce streams in 1,145 examination centres across the state. The first paper was Modern Indian Language. Of the 3,57,942 students, 2,19,110 students appeared under the Arts stream, 91,379 under Science and 23,148 under Commerce stream.
Students are required to reach the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the commencement of the exam. Items such as calculators, mobile phones, smart watches, etc are not allowed inside the exam hall. In addition to this, students must carry their CHSE class 12 admit card without fail as entry will not be allowed in case a student forgets it.
The students were given 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam to read the question paper while students with special needs were given an hour extra to finish their exam.
The Odisha class 12 exam is divided into practicals and theory paper marks- 70 for theory and 30 for practicals. The subjects that do not have a practical examination will be for 100 marks. The Odisha CHSE practical exams 2023 was held from February 1 to 10, 2023.
