OUAT signs MoU with ICAR-NBPGR on research, exchange of technical ideas

NEW DELHI: The Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar has entered into an agreement with National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi, (ICAR-NBPGR) on the exchange of students towards research and technical ideas.

The MoU was signed by Dayanidhi Mishra, Director of Planning, Monitoring, on behalf of OUAT and Dr GP Singh, Director on behalf of ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi in presence of Pravat Kumar Roul, Vice Chancellor, OUAT with broad objectives on exchange of students towards research, extensive exploration, collection, identification and characterisation of Germplasm etc jointly.

This MoU will be helpful for establishment of mutual relationship between both the institutions as well as creation of facilities for exchange of the students for academic, research and training purposes.

On this occasion, Prof Roul opined that such collaboration with one another mutually agreed will be useful for research programmes in the areas of agriculture and other specified areas of interest.

This will help with scientific and student exchanges as well as the sharing of technologies and methodologies that interest both institutions. A further achievement for both institutions will be the creation and execution of joint research projects.

Sharing of laboratory facilities as available and required in programme of common interest as may be mutually agreed upon. Ultimately, the students of OUAT and ICAR-NBPGR will be helpful as end users. On this occasion Professors and staff of ICAR-NBPGR, Deans, Directors and concerned scientists of OUAT were also present.
