President of India, Droupadi Murmu inaugurated photo exhibition in Hyderabad and addressed students as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

NEW DELHI: As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in Hyderabad, president of India, Droupadi Murmu addressed the students and faculty members of the Keshav Memorial Educational Society today. The president also inaugurated the 'Hyderabad liberation movement', a photo exhibition to showcase contributions of regional freedom fighters.
The president said that education is the foundation to build a nation and the key to unlock 100 percent potential of every citizen. She praised the educational society for its manifold growth from a small school to a reputable educational centre with nine different colleges, enrolling over 11,000 students.

Murmu also emphasised the importance of reading and said that the habit of reading is one of the most effective means for self-development. She further added that In this age of internet and social media while attention span is getting shorter and shorter and communication is limited to characters, reading is a skill that would serve the students throughout their lives. She urged students to develop a habit of reading more to improve their understanding and widen their perspective.
While noting the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Hyderabad, Murmu said that the habit of reading is one of the most effective means for self-development d that thus event holds a great significance for the people of the region and for the nation as a whole. She paid tributes and said that such heroes such as Ramji Gond, Turrebaz Khan, Komaram Bheem, Suravaram Prathap Reddy and Shoyabulla Khan will always be remembered and honored.
The president further added that it is important for all to remember that the independence is not just about the liberation from oppressive rulers of the past but also ensuring a bright future through well conceived steps taken today.
"As we move into the future, it is upto the young people of India to ensure that we build upon the foundations laid by our forefathers and take our nation to new heights. This means working hard and striving for excellence in all that we do. It means being responsible and committed citizens, who are willing to contribute to the betterment of our society. It means upholding the values and ideals of our Constitution and working towards a more inclusive and equitable society. It means fighting climate change and preserving the planet for future generations," said president Droupadi Murmu.
