The Punjab government has extended winter holidays for all classes in all schools till January 8. Earlier, schools were to reopen today.

NEW DELHI : The Punjab government has extended winter holidays for all classes in all government and private schools in the state till January 8, 2023. Earlier, the schools were supposed to reopen today, January 2.
“Punjab Govt has extended winter holidays in all the govt, private and aided schools till January 8, 2023. School Education Minister HarjotBains said that all schools in the state would not open on January 2nd as announced earlier. The schools would now open on January 9, 2023,” said the state government handle in a tweet.

The state government had announced winter holidays in all schools from December 25 to January 1.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government has declared winter holidays for all government and private schools in the state from January 1 to 15, 2023. However, in view of board exams 2023, Class 10 and 12 students will have to attend classes from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Moreover, all Delhi government schools will remain closed for two weeks starting from January 1 for winter holidays, the Directorate of Education announced. However, remedial sessions for Class 9 to Class 12 will be held from January 2 to 14 to revise the syllabi and enhance students' learning-level academic performance.
