Punjab shined in the National Achievement Survey (NAS) across all three levels, shared state education minister Harjot Singh Bains. The survey results show that Kerala has replaced Rajasthan by securing higher mean scores in Classes 6 and 9.

Around 23 lakh school students in over 87,000 schools across 36 states and Union Territories (UTs) appeared for the test held in December last year. The assessment test was held for Classes 3, 6, and 9 in 23 languages. PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 held by the Performance, Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development replaced the NAS, as reported by Careers360.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) introduced NAS as a national-level assessment conducted to examine the learning achievement of students of Classes 3, 5, 8, and 10 studying in government and private schools across the country.

In the PARAKH survey results shared by Dapinder Singh Virk, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to education minister, Punjab scored 80 in grade 3, 67 in grade 6, and 57 in grade 9.

In PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 result for grade 3, the top 10 performing states and UTs include Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

As per NAS 2024 grade 6 results, Kerala, Punjab, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, and Sikkim emerged as the top performers.

Grade 9 saw Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Rajasthan, Odisha, Goa, and Maharashtra secured the top 10 places besides Punjab and Kerala.
