NEW DELHI: The leaders of Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD), also known as Quad countries -- India, Australia, Japan, and the United States of America, launched the Quad Fellowship in Tokyo today for graduates to pursue master's and doctoral students. The fellowship will sponsor 100 graduate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) selected from the Quad countries to study in the US.

Candidates can apply for the Quad fellowship until June 30. The arrival of the first class of Quad fellows is scheduled to be in autumn 2023.

According to the Quad fellowship website, the scholarship is designed to build a good relationship between the next generation of scientists and technologists from the member countries. Under the scholarship, 25 students will be selected from each country to study in the United States from August 2023 to May 2024. Those who get selected for the Quad fellowship programme will receive a total scholarship amount of 50,000 dollars. This will be a one-time payment and students can use the amount for academic expenses such as tuition, research, fees, books, room etc.
The Quad fellowship aims to develop a network of science and technology experts to advance innovation and collaboration among Quad countries. The objective of this scholarship is to create a better understanding of each society and culture of member countries among Quad scholars.
