NEW DELHI: Final-year medical students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Karnataka have been waiting for their results even after the High Court directed the university to implement a new evaluation scheme and declare RGUHS results.

In view of the continuing “trouble” caused to the MBBS students, the All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) has requested the RGUHS vice chancellor to look into the matter. The MBBS students earlier this year filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court for a new evaluation scheme. The court judgment came in favor of students.

The students had filed a case regarding revaluation and for considering the average of the best two. The case, however, got dragged for five months. Even as they got the approval from court, “…university went on a review petition considering the issue and again the court had dismissed the case saying it was clear and average of best two must be considered. This whole court process has been going on for 2 months,” AIMSA said in a tweet.

Concerned about the future of the medical students, the students group requested the vice-chancellor to take immediate steps. “Just 35 days left for exams and results aren't announced yet,” AIMSA said.

In April, RGUHS came up with the new ordinance for evaluation. After a delay, in November the high court ordered the university to implement the new scheme and granted two weeks time to conduct the re-evaluation and declare the revised results. However, the medical college is yet to declare the results for the students.
