NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 21: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have revised the number of vacancies for Technician and ALP posts. The total number of vacancies for Technician and ALP posts has increased to 64371 from 26,502. With the revised vacancies for ALP and Technician posts, the number of vacancies has gone up by 143%. Out of the total vacancies announced, 27,795 are for ALP, while 36,576 are for Technician posts.
Earlier on August 1, RRBs had released a notification stating that the number of vacancies are likely to be increased to 60,000. However, with the revised vacancies now, the exact number has gone up by 4371. Along with its earlier notification, the board had also mentioned that it reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies as per requirement at the time of empanelling of candidates. Thus, the increased 4371 posts than the estimated 60,000 come in line with its official announcement.
As per the notice released by RRBs regarding increase in vacancies, candidates who have applied and appeared for RRB ALP exam conducted from August 9 to September 4, can select RRBs, enter options for railway/units and posts, trade, confirm or modify bank account details for application fee refund till October 1, 2018.
To enter choice of RRBs, Railway/Unit and posts, candidates have to login with their user id and password. The options once finally submitted by the candidates cannot be modified later. Therefore, candidates are advised to enter their choices correctly. It is mandatory for all candidates who have appeared for the first stage exam to enter their choice of RRBs, posts and railway/unit or else they will not be considered for the second stage CBT.
Candidates who have selected more than one exam trades at the time of application filling, as per their qualification, now have the facility to select only one exam trade of their choice for appearing in the Part B of second stage exam.
The application fees of SC, ST, Ex-Serviceman, PWD, Female, Transgender, minorities and economically backward candidates who have appeared for the first stage exam will be refunded by RRBs. For this, candidates have to confirm their Bank Account Details. The account details once confirmed or modified cannot be changed later.
Meanwhile, the RRBs have activated the link to download RRB ALP Answer Key, question papers and raise objection on September 21 for the candidates who have taken the test. Candidates having any doubt with regard to the answers can submit their objection till October 1.
RRB ALP recruitment exam is conducted to select candidates for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician in Indian Railways. More than 47 lakh candidates had applied for RRB ALP exam this year. The result of RRB ALP 2018 (first stage CBT) is likely to be declared in October.
