SIMATS introduces scholarship for EWS students; tech, medical, law, arts streams to benefit

SIMATS Admission 2026-27 : Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) has announced the Chancellor Dr N M Veeraiyan Scholarship for economically backward students. The Saveetha group of institutions will offer free education, covering tuition fees and other basic amenities such as accommodation, meals, and transportation for the shortlisted students.
According to the official SIMATS press release, students who have passed Class 12 and appeared for the Saveetha entrance exam and personal interview will be eligible for admission.
The eligibility requirement for the Chancellor Dr N M Veeraiyan Scholarship states that students must have a minimum of 60% in Class 12, and they should not have opted for any other scholarship for the same course.
“Recipients of the scholarship will be required to fulfil a commitment to work for a specified duration, in accordance with the regulations of their enrolled course,” the official SIMATS press release said.
SIMATS Scholarship 2026-27: Who can apply?
The eligibility criteria for scholarship recipients are listed below.
- The children of martyrs served in uniformed service in the Defence, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Central and State uniformed service, viz. Fire service, Police.
- SIMATS scholarship will be awarded to children who lost both parents to COVID.
- Students who received awards in the recognised sports events at the national and international levels.
- Meritorious students studied in the government higher and secondary schools.
- Differently abled students with a benchmark disability are subject to the eligibility criteria of the course.
SIMATS Chennai offer admissions to medical, engineering, law, management, hospitality and tourism, liberal arts and sciences, agriculture, architecture and design, physical education and other related fields.
