Schools Closed Today: Several states have ordered school closures due to monsoon rains across the country. Schools in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi-NCR will remain shut today after an India Meteorological Department (IMD) alert.
According to a Press Trust of India report, monsoon rains continuing for the past 36 hours have wreaked havoc in many parts of Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district, prompting the Paonta administration to declare a holiday for educational institutions.
School closures aim to ensure the safety of students amid the bad weather conditions and IMD alerts.
All schools and Anganwadi centres in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun will remain shut today following heavy rainfall and an orange alert issued by the meteorological department, as per the India Express report.
All government and private schools, Anganwadis, play schools, and all other educational institutions in the sub-division of Himachal's Sirmaur will remain closed today.
However, heads of educational institutions and staff required for administrative and emergency work will remain available as directed by the authorities.
The Ghaziabad district basic education officer has declared a school holiday for Classes 1 to 12 after the IMD alert. An orange alert has been issued by the IMD after the possibility of strong thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms in Ghaziabad district.
