Gujarat Schools Closed: Amid the forecast of heavy rains in Ahmedabad city, all the AMC-run Anganwadis in the city will remain closed till August 3

Due to torrential rains and flood-like conditions in Odisha and Gujarat, several districts have announced school, college, and anganwadi closures tomorrow, July 31. Therefore, in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall in Ahmedabad, all Anganwadi centres run by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will remain closed until August 3.
As per media reports, authorities have announced a holiday for schools and colleges in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Anand, Vadodara, and Navsari. In Kheda district, all schools, colleges, and Anganwadi centres across the district will also remain closed.
“In view of the forecast of heavy rains in Ahmedabad city, all the AMC-run Anganwadis in the city will remain closed till August 3,” the notice read.
School and college closures in Odisha for tomorrow will vary by district.
In Khordha district, all schools will remain closed on Friday, July 31, following an announcement by the district collector due to the prevailing flood situation. Furthermore, as per local media reports, a holiday has been announced tomorrow for all educational institutions in Wayanad district.
The IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh until August 1. Schools in districts vulnerable to landslides and flash floods may be temporarily closed if weather conditions worsen.
