NEW DELHI: As per the recent interaction of the Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ with NDTV, he said that the schools might reopen after the board exams. He also added that the final decision will rely on the ground situation and things will be finalised only after the guidance of the health ministers and home ministers.

There was conjecture in the past days that the schools might reopen from June 2020. However, the education minister said that the schools will reopen after at least a month from now.

Earlier, the CBSE remaining exam dates were announced. The Board will conduct the remaining CBSE examination from July 1 to July 15, 2020. The schools might reopen after the exams, the minister told NDTV in an interaction.

The education minister also said that as the Coronavirus cases are consistently increasing in the country, the final decision will be taken keeping in mind the safety of the students.

"I am confident the situation will be normal. If it doesn't get better, we will consult the ministry, student, parents. We will consider all the suggestions," he further added.

The NCERT’s task force will look into the current situation and decide on the reopening of the schools.

Recently, CBSE allowed the students to appear for exams from their present districts. Students were advised to contact their respective school authorities and get their exam centres changed accordingly.
