Schools to reopen in Gujarat from September 2 for Classes 6 to 8
Schools in Gujarat will reopen for Classes 6 to 8 from September 2, 2021, state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama has announced.
NEW DELHI: The Gujarat government on Wednesday decided to reopen physical classes in schools for students of grades 6 to 8 from September 2, 2021. The offline classes for 6 to 8 will be allowed across the state, state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama has informed ANI.

The schools will reopen with strict COVID-19 protocols and limited attendance. Wearing of face masks, social distancing, using sanitizers will be mandatory for the students who will attend the classes from next week onwards.

The government had already reopened schools for students of classes 9 to 11 from July 26 with 50% seating capacity. The government had asked the students to submit a consent form signed by their parents for attending offline classes.
Earlier, in July, the state government had reopened schools for students of class 12th along with colleges and technical institutions in the state. The decision was taken by the Gujarat government in the wake of significant drop in COVID-19 cases in the state.
Other states like Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand and others have resumed physical classes for 9 to 12 students. Most states are allowing only 50% capacity of students in the schools.
