SCMHRD secures AACSB re-accreditation, joins list of top 22 B-schools in India
SCMHRD: Globally only 6% of B-Schools meet AACSB’s standards, out of which 3% institutions are located outside the USA.

NEW DELHI: Symbiosis Centre for Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) has been re-accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This AACSB accreditation is given for meeting international academic standards and commitment to excellence in management education.
SCMHRD first received AACSB accreditation in February 2020. TheSCMHRD became the 14th institution in India to earn the distinction. With this re-accreditation, SCMHRD remains one of only 22 business schools in India to hold AACSB accreditation and the sole institution in Pune to achieve this recognition. As per the information on the official press release, globally, only 6% of business schools meet AACSB’s standards. Out of the 6% just 3% of these institutions are located outside the United States.

AACSB accreditation is a globally recognized benchmark for business education, assessing institutions based on curriculum quality, faculty credentials, research contributions, and student learning outcomes.

Commenting on the achievement, SCMHRD director Netra Ganesh Neelam stated that the re-accreditation reinforces the institute’s dedication to academic innovation and impactful research. She emphasized that this recognition enhances SCMHRD’s global partnerships, improves student mobility, and boosts employer confidence in its graduates.
She said, “Our AACSB re-accreditation is a testament to SCMHRD’s relentless pursuit of academic excellence, innovation, and impactful research. It strengthens our global partnerships, enhances student mobility, and boosts employer confidence in our graduates. We remain committed to shaping business leaders who drive meaningful change in society."
Impact on students and employers
The renewed accreditation ensures that its graduates are well-equipped for leadership roles in dynamic business environments. The certification assures prospective students and recruiters that SCMHRD’s programs align with international educational standards, making graduates more competitive in the job market.
As per the institute's official press release, SCMHRD provides a campus culture that emphasizes ‘personal and professional growth’. The SCMHRD states, ''Through a unique blend of rigorous academics, experiential learning, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, SCMHRD cultivates an ecosystem of excellence.''
Recently, Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) has established the School of Defence to develop a skilled workforce for the defence sector. The university also plans to introduce various degree and diploma programs in engineering to cater to the demand for industry-ready professionals in this growing field, according to an official statement.
