Shiv Nadar Foundation announces launch of Shiv Nadar school; first K-12 school in Chennai

NEW DELHI: Shiv Nadar Foundation has announced a launch of a K-12 (from kindergarten to 12th grade) school chain in Chennai- Shiv Nadar School. The academic session for Nursery to Grade 4 will begin from June 2023 onwards. Around 150 students will be enrolled in the first year of operations, the schools plans on increasing admissions every year.
The school campus spans across 14-acres of land in the the Damodar Gardens located near the Elliot's beach. The school will have separate block for the junior, middle, and senior school students. The students will be able to avail facilities like state-of-the-art science lab, play area, multi-purpose indoor sports complex, sports field for athletics a dining hall, an auditorium, a swimming pool and a playground among others. The entire campus will be ready by 2024.
Shiv Nadar Foundation currently runs three schools in Delhi-NCR in Faridabad, Noida, and Gurugram and is ranked among the top schools in NCR.
Chairman of Shiv Nadar School, Shikhar Malhotra, said: “Tamil Nadu will always be special since it is the birthplace of Shiv Nadar, and thus makes it an ideal location for starting an international school. Shiv Nadar Foundation pursues the philosophy of 'creative philanthropy,' which envisages the creation of institutions that are built to last and continue to impact future generations. We already have two educational institutions in the higher education space set up in the city, and starting a school in the K-12 space was a natural step in integrating the learning journey. After successfully running three Shiv Nadar Schools in Delhi NCR, we are thrilled to launch the fourth one in Chennai.”
