SHRESHTA NETS 2024 registration process starts on shreshta.ntaonline.in; apply till April 4

The SHRESHTA NETS 2024 will be held on May 24 for SC candidates for admission into 3,000 seats of CBSE-affiliated private residential schools.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the National Entrance Test 2024 for Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA NETS) 2024. The NTA is conducting the SHRESHTA NETS 2024 registration on behalf of the ministry of social justice and empowerment through the official website, shreshta.ntaonline.in.

The registration process for SHRESHTA NETS will end on April 4. The SHRESHTA NETS correction window will be open from April 6 to 8. Students will be able to download the admit card from May 12 and the SHRESHTA NETS will be held from 2 pm to 3 pm on May 24. The result will be declared 4 to 6 weeks after the exam.

The union government has launched the scheme to provide high-quality education to meritorious scheduled castes (SCs) students in CBSE-affiliated residential schools for 3,000 seats in Class 9 and 11. Candidates will not have to pay an application fee. Selected students will be fully funded by the union government.

Eligibility criteria

The parent income of candidates applying for the SHRESHTA NETS should be less than 2.5 lakh per year. Students belonging to scheduled castes studying in Class 8 and 10 can apply for SHRESHTA NETS Class 9 and 10 exam, respectively. Candidates will have to provide the correct e-mail address and mobile number as NTA will communicate any information on these.

Candidates opting for Class 9 should be born between April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2012 while those applying for Class 11 should be born between April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2010.

Exam pattern

The SHRESHTA NETS exam will be for three years and students will have to attempt 100 questions. The exam will have 30 questions of maths, 20 of science, 25 of social science and 25 of general knowledge. The NTA said four marks will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking.
