SSC postpones GD Constable application dates; Aadhaar Card mandatory for registration

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the application dates of SSC GD Constable recruitment exam. The registration window will available from July 24 to August 24, 2018 till 5 pm. Earlier, the online application procedure was scheduled to start from July 21, however due to some technical issues, the application dates have been rescheduled. Aadhaar Card has been made mandatory for filling SSC GD Constable application form.
SSC official notice reads, “Candidates of Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2018 may please note that the facility for submission of online applications for the said examination, which was scheduled to be made available to the candidates, on the new website of the Commission from July 21, could not be done, due to a major technical problem. Experts are working overtime to address the said problem and it is proposed to provide the requisite facility at the earliest.”
“The facility for submission of online applications for the said examination has been rescheduled and would now be made available on the website of the Commission by July 24, 2018. Accordingly, the last date for submission of the applications has been extended till August 24, 2018. Payment through SBI Challan can be done up to August 28 provided the challan has been generated before August 24, 2018,” the notice further stated.
Candidates applying for SSC GD Constable exam are required to register with SSC again as the old registration ID and password will not work. Before proceeding with the registration candidates must keep their mobile number, email id, Aadhaar number ready. In case there is no Aadhaar number, candidates will have to provide the ID numbers of Voter ID card, PAN, Passport, Driving License, School/College ID or Employee ID. Applicants will also have to upload their left thumb impression.
Applicants need to enter their Aadhaar number, name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth etc., twice in the relevant columns of the registration form for verification purpose and to avoid any mistakes.
SSC GD Constable notification was released on July 21, 2018. A total of 54,953 vacancies have been announced. The selection process comprises – Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and medical examination.
